THE LOGGER

Words to a favorite song, "I see that you are a logger and just a common bum-------" I log fire wood for a hobby and sing the song as I work. When we had our new home in Idaho built my wife insisted on a fire place. We installed a franklin style which can burn a lot of wood. I buy starter to get it going and energy logs that keep it going but the aroma and beautiful blaze comes from the wood. My home has a modern natural gas furnace but the fire complements the music and fine wine. I use a hand saw for excercise plus I am afraid of chain saws. My logging truck is a waggon I pull.  My logging uniform consists of clothing not good enough to give to the good will. Many people in town have expressed concern for this poor deperate old man who scronges for wood. Many have offered to help. One man suggested he could help me and with his chain saw and pick up truck we could gather more wood in an hour then I get in a month.  My answer was that I would lose a month of excercise. Others have offered me finacial help; I assume to supplement my wine cellar.. I make it clear that my wine collection is well stocked with the finest wine so no need for concern. Guess the purpose of this post is to make it clear that I am a logger, not just a common bum but I do appreciate people caring about me.  Yes, it is true that I often take a free meal at the Catholic Church on Friday and my Gardenia Center on Wednesday but that is for social contact. I am feeding my soul.
